Alicia Baker is a hip, classy, actual one woman band! If you want a fresh, fun, and technically expert take on a wide variety of musical genres - she's your gal! Alicia is a professional singer, accordionist, and pianist currently residing in the Denver area. She has won multiple international competitions on the accordion (check the photos!), and has performed in highly-acclaimed venues including Carnegie Hall. Alicia earned 3 bachelor of music degrees from Oregon State University in piano performance, vocal performance, and music education, in addition to a masters of music degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from CU Boulder. In addition to her classical training, Alicia is extremely comfortable in a wide variety of musical styles, including: - Vocals: standard jazz, French jazz, pop, classical - Accordion: standard jazz, French jazz, pop, folk, polkas (Oktoberfest themed), classical - Piano: jazz, pop, classical Alicia learns music very quickly, and is more than happy to customize musical selections to the needs and preferences of individual clients. When performing on the solo accordion, she often uses a digital Roland accordion, which allows her to sound like an entire band! Alicia always performs completely live, and never uses backing tracks; however, the digital accordion allows her to mimic the instrumental sounds of say, a full jazz trio, or a funk band, or even a techno rave - all in a solo act.
