We are Heavy Mellow, Austin's premiere Yacht Rock tribute band!
Yacht Rock means we specialize in smooth soft rock gems from the late 70s and early 80s. Songs like "What a Fool Believes", "Biggest Part of Me", "Baby Come Back", "I Can't Go For That" and "Africa"!
It takes Ten musicians to cover every note on these classic tracks, from sax to keyboards, synthesizers to lead guitars, percussion and the smoothest rhythm section. Not to mention Four-part harmonies that faithfully recreate every complex vocal harmony on these pop masterpieces.
We've played to large enthusiastic crowds at clubs around Austin such as The Highball, Half Step on Rainey St, and recently a sold out New Year's Eve show at Stay Gold. Now we want to make your event set sail for the Smooth Seas! Your guests are sure to enjoy hearing these favorites brought to life; songs you never hear any cover band even attempt usually, much less fill an entire evening with.
Make it a full blown Yacht Rock themed event by having us DJ in between live sets!
