San Simón is an Afro-Latin and funk influence septet drawing on raw soul, jazz improvisation and catchy pop songwriting stirred into an intoxicating brew of rhythm and song designed to keep you dancing. The group formed in late 2013 when guitarist/composer Evan Ubiera sought like minds, pushing his vision to new heights and creating a dynamic and lively groove that nods to the past while remaining aware of the present. NY-based San Simón features a collective of musicians with backgrounds in genres as diverse as jazz, soul, neosoul, salsa, Afro-Caribbean folk and rock.
