Beautiful, Memorable, Personalized weddings by interfaith minister with 24 years experience and three graduate degrees in the field.
Rev. Rebecca will help you create the wedding of your dreams, incorporating themes, words and innovative rituals that reflect your deepest beliefs while respecting the traditions you value. Lay the foundation for long-lasting love with a profoundly meaningful ceremony. The process of creation is collaborative and you always have the final say.
Rebecca worked for 12 years with the Joseph Campbell Foundation and incorporates her deep understanding of myth and ritual into the weave of the wedding. Her decades long work in the interfaith movement have prepared her to work with great sensitivity in blending faith traditions within a single ceremony. She also creates completely secular ceremonies using the rich resources of humanistic literature and ethics.
For the wedding day itself, Rebecca brings a strong, passionate presence to the event which grounds the proceedings in the proper sense of solemnity and joy.
Rev. Rebecca ia authorized to officiate in all fifty states but her focus is in the Midwest and southern California. (June and early autumn weddings in Chicago and the Dunes area and the rest of the year San Diego up to and including Los Angeles.)
Rebecca's website has many examples of ceremonies from different traditions and lots of ideas for readings, blessings and rituals.
Rev. Rebecca performs all kinds of ceremonies including same-sex weddings, renewal of vows ceremonies, elopements and surprise weddings at family events (!), destination weddings and "ceremonial" weddings (after the legal union has already taken place but you want to celebrate with friends and family); weddings that include children (and pets!) and other family members, weddings on beaches, on boats, in water taxis, gardens, gazebos, mansions, mountains, chapels, hotels, restaurants, public parks, the zoo, the planetarium, the museum, art galleries, theaters, rooftops and terraces, Starved Rock, Lincoln Park, Pacific Ocean, Lake Michigan, your backyard, the living room - and wherever you decide to have yours!
2016 WEDDING PACKAGES
Preferred Wedding Package
It includes the initial call, the long Brainstorming Session, the back-and-forth emails and any phone calls along the way. It includes a walk-through on the day of the ceremony one hour before the scheduled service - which is useful for musicians, photographers, relatives and the wedding party - so everything is in short-term memory! It covers the officiating of the ceremony and the paperwork afterwards.
$500 plus travel - Depending upon my schedule I may be available for a formal rehearsal (except for Friday and Saturday evenings) for an additional fee of $250 plus travel.
Silver Wedding Package
This package includes a formal rehearsal in addition to the initial 30-minute introductory session, the long brainstorming session, the ceremony creation, all communications leading up to the ceremony, preparing and sharing the ceremony script with the other wedding vendors that you specify (usually the wedding planner, the musicians of DJ, and sometimes the photographer), officiating the ceremony, and doing the paperwork afterwards.
$700 plus travel
Gold Wedding Package
This package offers you everything you might need or want to be completely supported in your journey towards your wedding. It includes the initial call, the long Brainstorming Session and all the back-and-forth emails or calls as we shape the ceremony script, and a final meeting in the weeks just prior to the wedding. It includes pre-marital counseling - either using the Prepare-Enrich format, or the soul-based counseling I offer. It includes a formal rehearsal and full collaboration with your other wedding professionals. Of course, it includes my officiating the ceremony and doing the paperwork afterwards. If you'd like me to offer a blessing or grace at the rehearsal dinner or the reception, I'm happy to do so.
$1000 plus travel (and accommodations where required)
This offer is exclusively for couples who want a quiet, private ceremony without the fuss. Sometimes it is just the two of you, sometimes there are a few family members or close friends to serve as witnesses. I give the same care to the creation of the elopement ceremony as I do for any other wedding, so the package includes our Brainstorming Session, but it is done by phone. No formal rehearsal is necessary; I arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time to have a final chat before officiating the ceremony.
$300 plus travel - This offer is good for anytime other than Friday and Saturday evenings.
