About Vendor

*Greetings! You've spent time and energy on your event making sure the food, decorations, and location are correct, why not go all the way and plan for what your guests hear? Whether live or "canned", the music and sounds heard during your event color your guests' lasting impressions, and their enjoyment. Weddings, funerals, and all of life's occasions between, gain meaning when you give the gift of live music to your guests, when you deliberately choose the tone of the music, or when you get a professional engineer to ensure the sound goes off without a hitch. Your event should have a soundtrack and style that reflects who you are, and Music by Dracorvus Arts works with you, bringing personalized life to your events. *About Music by Dracorvus Arts: We are LGBTQ and all religions friendly, and have professional experience with many kinds of events and live music. We can work with the family, or an event planner to ensure music and sound match desired ambiance. Large or small, simple or elaborate, conventional or unconventional, indoor or out, we've got you covered. We have worked with varied religious and secular ceremonies, and are willing to consider costuming for themed events. Music by Dracorvus Arts is primarily Natalie Beversluis, playing solo violin or singing, and Clifford Thomas, sound technician. Our network of musicians allow potential availability of duo or trio arrangements. Possible additional instruments include guitar, mandolin, whistles, cello, voice, keyboard, and bass. If there is an instrument you would like added, please ask, we may know someone who could join us. Natalie can also collaborate with a musician of your choosing. Genres available are likewise varied. Classical and Celtic are the primary styles available, along with Italian, Middle Eastern, Old-Timey, and other World musics. If you have a desired genre, ask. We may be able to meet your need, or know someone who can. If you have a favorite tune, Natalie can create a solo violin part using either an audio file, or a video. She played Jurassic Park's theme music as a bridal march, and learned Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", Elvis' Can't Help Falling In Love, and the Love Song from A Princess Bride, to name a few. Of course she also knows more traditional classical music and wedding tunes, including Pachelbel's Cannon in D, and the entire piece of Handel's Hornpipe from the Water music. *Fees: All fees are explained and discussed up front, and terms and expectations are stated in writing. Items such as the following will determine your event quote: travel beyond a thirty minute radius (from roughly downtown Grand Rapids); additional musicians; amplified sound set up (2 levels); excessive practice time (for new or involved music, or with a new musician); transcribing music (writing out from audio or video); and supplying a 10x10' pop up tent (we have 2, and outdoor events MUST provide musician and sound equipment weather protection). As your event is discussed, we will determine fees as needed. Fees Example, sound amplification: the most basic fee has Natalie showing up with her violin and a direct box, ready to play acoustically, or to plug into your sound tech's gear. The next level has her bringing a small amplifier with two inputs, microphone and stand - sound that is usually good for a large room, or small outdoor area. Then, there is a full sound set up, Cliff as sound technician, with big speakers, monitors, and multiple input channels. *A Note For Weddings: For solo, duo or trio instrumentation, frequently asked for wedding music includes: -Prelude / postlude (when friends and family are gathering / being seated, and leaving ceremony area) -Processional & Bridal March / recessional (for the bride / groom, wedding party to enter / leave) -Ceremony piece(s) (music during the actual ceremony - candle lighting / sand mixing music; special song for bride / groom, etc.) -Cocktail hour music -Dinner music Reception music often requires a larger sound, but we are willing to provide a duo or trio of Celtic musicians for a more laid back reception. If you are interested in a full band of Celtic musicians, rock or traditional, we can give you contact info. If you need help figuring out what type of music to use, or when you want it, let us know, we can help. Music by Dracorvus Arts strives to fill your musical needs, consulting with you to make sure your event has the music and sound needed for the ambiance you want. Let us make your event the best it can be!
