Hello! I am a jazz/fusion electric violinist and vocalist from Santa Rosa, California. I am currently a sophomore at both Harvard University and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. When I am back home (over Christmas and the summer), I lead a jazz trio and we perform an eclectic set of pop, rock, fusion, swing, bebop, show tunes, latin, blues, loop pedal improvisation, standards, and more. Some songs we play instrumentally, and others I play violin and sing. I have performed at many Bay Area venues including Yoshi's Jazz Club in Oakland, Yoshi's Jazz Club in San Francisco, The RRazz Room in San Francisco, Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, and many Sonoma County wineries and parties. I am willing to travel ALL OVER the Bay Area to accommodate your needs! If you are looking for samples of music/video, please check out my website or my YouTube channel. As I cannot link them on this website, please Google Search my name, and the first two results are my website and my YouTube channel. Please contact me with any questions. In the meantime, let me tell you a little more about myself.
During the past four years, I studied with two exceptional Grammy award-winning jazz violinists and educators: Mads Tolling (of the Mads Tolling Quartet) and David Balakrishnan (a founding member of Turtle Island Quartet). In April 2012, I attended the Acoustic Music Seminar in Savannah, Georgia, one of 22 hand-picked young string players chosen to represent the future of acoustic string music. There, I had the privilege to work with such luminaries as Zakir Hussain, Mike Marshall, Edgar Meyer, Abigail Washburn, Chris Thile (of Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers fame), Bruce Molsky, Julian Lage, Daniel Hope, and others.
With recommendations from Dave Balakrishnan of the Turtle Island Quartet and jazz-violin master Jean-Luc Ponty, I was accepted into the Harvard University and New England Conservatory Dual Degree Program last year. It is a 5-year program, which will allow me to attain both a Master's Degree in Music and a Bachelor's Degree in any academic subject of my choice by the end of the 5 years. As of Fall, 2014, I am a sophomore at both schools.
