We have the greatest profession in the world. Every weekend we get a chance to watch an actual fairytale unfold in front of us. We have the privilege to be a part of the lives of people at their very best and at their happiest moment in their lives. In the background you will have two videographers catching the excitement of the sights and sounds that fill the room. Look at it this way, on stage we have an entire group of people enjoying themselves while the bride and the groom, the leading lady and the leading man, create their movie. In order to make this video as special as their day, we come in early and catch the bride and the groom getting ready. We will video them reading love letters or having a special moment with a family member. These clips become the introduction to the ceremony. Inside the venue we video the wedding ceremony from two different locations. One is at the back of the church shooting down the isle to catch the wedding from the guests point of view. The second camera is up front where it captures the procession coming down the isle and then it moves to a position which places the focus of the camera over the left shoulder of the officiant. The groom is wired-up so the audio is clear and crisp for the vows. That same camera is focused on the bride catching her every expression, her every word, and every tear. At the end of the ceremony when the officiant introduces the couple to friends and family, the first camera catches the excitement of that moment from the back of the church, then later it catches the procession coming out of the church. At reception where we capture the wedding party dances; Bride and groom, bride and her father groom and his mother and the bridal party celebration dance. We capture the toast, the cutting of the cake, and the throwing of the garter and bouquet. When the reception moves to the non event mode, one camera captures the guest dancing while the second camera goes off to get the interviews of friends and family. We stay to the end and capture the last kiss and the farewell. Back at the studio we go through 4+ hours of video to select the best clips for the wedding video. Each clip is enhanced and an audio sound track is laid down under the clips after we remove the ambient noises from the crowd. The transitions are selected and placed in the video, and the interviews are laid in over certain clips, the audio is again adjusted. At this point we are almost through, so we post this draft video on our website. We notify the couple and they go to it and review it and provide us with their revisions. The draft, which is still on the studio board, is revised. When the final product arrives, there are no unpleasant surprises. This video is now their video because it was designed by them in the initial planning stage, and edited by them to make it their own. Turn around time is about 3 weeks, even shorter if we can engage the couple within the first week following the wedding.
