A lifelong full time professional musician, I was a band leader for almost 20 years! Since then, for the last 22 years I have been a Retro One Man Band, performing an extremely wide variety of songs on fingerstyle and slide acoustic guitar, strong vocals, harmonicas in the neck rack and foot percussion. Either amplified or not, you will enjoy true musicianship, fun entertainment, and fantastic sound quality. All my band members always show up and no one ever leaves the band! I enjoy being as unobtrusive or rambunctious as desired, and I will NOT BE TOO LOUD!!! Just let me know what you want... I am able to go with the flow! I often get comments that I sound like 3 or 4 musicians at once, but I also enjoy playing unplugged background instrumentals. Whatever works best for you! Hundreds of memorized familiar favorite songs from the 1920s on, and about 50 originals make for music tailored for your audience in the moment. An occasional story or joke may occur if it works in the context. A lot of the fun in doing what I do is in relating with the audience. Requests are welcomed, especially if I know them! I am happy to discuss your event with you and lend you my extensive experience in planning its music if desired. I look forward to entertaining you and your audience

Paul is a multi=talented man playing a variety of instruments and accommodating the likes of the entire audience. He was able to move from group to group as people ate, socialized and listened, singing by request or his choice music that appeal to each group. He is so friendly and has a large variety of songs from which he can choose. His clean cut, friendly, mod look makes him attractive to all who listen. I will definitely recommend him to other groups, and when he is available hire him again.

We were delighted with Paul Nichols and his music. Paul has a versatile repertoire, is pleasant to work with, and since this event was in a small venue it was great that he kept the volume level not too high so people could talk and still enjoy some great music. Paul also takes special requests and is very accommodating to guests. I highly recommend Paul Nichols and his "one man band" -- a terrific addition to any event.
