World Class Bar Band Cecil Blue is a band out of rural Baldwin County, Alabama. Often referred to as "God's Country", Baldwin County prides itself on beautiful beaches, the Tensaw River delta, centuries old live oak trees, historical battlegrounds, cemeteries, and forts. It is from under one of those live oak trees, near the railroad and the delta, that Cecil Blue gets their name. The members of Cecil Blue have known each other for decades, hell some of 'em are even kin. Back when they were young, the cool thing to do was throw a house party or build a bonfire out on some backwoods country road. Of course not being of legal age, acquiring booze for such an event was difficult. That is where Cecil comes in. Cecil was an old black man that the boys stumbled upon years ago while in the woods looking for rabbit tobacco to chew. He lived in a self-made hut near the railroad tracks near Hurricane. That's how he traveled - hopping trains. Cecil was an interesting character and was an even better moonshiner. He never sold his shine and only made enough for himself. The only thing he loved more than moonshine was music. Cecil couldn't play so the boys would spend hours down in those woods playing and singing for Cecil. Cecil would repay the boys with four quart mason jars of his blue tinted shine. Sworn to secrecy, the boys in the band never revealed their source. Nevertheless, Cecil's shine quickly became a party favorite. It was always referred to as "that good ol' Cecil Blue". Sadly one day in the early 90's, the boys found a note on the the still that read "Boys, it's been a blessin' knowin' ya but my numbers up. Hopped my last train and will soon meet my maker. Take care of my stuff - Cecil"
