WeddingReviewed on October 3, 2023From Hallam, PA

The Bernstein Bard Trio (and the extra fiddle player) were exceptional. They were the first vendor we booked and they worked with us throughout our entire wedding planning process to make the event perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure that we had a set list that was just right. They are all incredibly talented musicians that helped our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner all sound exactly how we wanted. I really hope my wife and I have an opportunity to see them perform live again!

Hey Brian and Jacci, I hope you two socially conscious love birds have a happy and healthy life together. From all of us: Thank you so much for inviting us in to your world of family and friends. We loved playing for you! Keep doing that all important social change work and if you're ever up this way near NY give me a shout and I'll let you know where we'll be! Peace and of course love, Steve

Corporate FunctionReviewed on September 21, 2022From Hunter, NY

Working with the Bernstein Bard Trio was one of the easiest parts of our corporate retreat. Steve reached out right away to talk details, was responsive, and nailed down what we were looking for in the performance. We had issues on our side finding the right place for them to play at our venue but they were patient, accommodating and we got it sorted (love the battery-powered amps). They were exactly the right beautiful background music we were looking for as our C-suite level guests sat by a bonfire, and we'd definitely hire them again. They would also be fantastic as a main event and not background music, which I wish we could have done given their skill!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on September 20, 2018From Westport, CT

Bernstein Bard Trio got it 100% perfect! They’re really nice fellows, too. BBT played at my father’s lovely daytime birthday party. I listened to over 50 bands, interviewed 5 or 6 before hiring BBT. Steve Bernstein is a positive careful listener, was nonplussed by my restrictions, and made it easy to quickly work out the details. They’re experienced, mature, intelligent, accommodating, and love what they do. They’re easy to work with and totally trustworthy. 20% of guests were hard of hearing, wanted to talk, so BBT kept volume low. For other 80%, they played upbeat happy tunes with strong rhythm and traditional bent (pre-R&B). Wonderful experience!

Hey Coneye, The pleasure was ours. What an amazing man your father is! You produced a beautiful tribute to a great man and it was an honor to be there. Thank you so much! All the best to you and your family, Steve

WeddingReviewed on July 30, 2017From Kingston, NY

The trio played at our wedding in the Catskills - they were INCREDIBLE!!! Steve communicated really well before the wedding about the sound we were going for, the trio learned songs for the ceremony, and even gently prompted us to have a first dance (which we hadn't planned out at all), to the most beautiful rendition of Neil Young's Harvest Moon. These guys are professional, talented, and just have a wonderful energy. Hire them!

Hey Claire and Martin, Thanks for your kind words about our trio. It was a beautiful wedding on a gorgeous day in the Catskills, with such a warm and friendly group. Thanks for hiring us and for recommending us to future clients through Gig Masters. I wish for both of you many happy years of marriage. Best of luck! Warmly, Steve ps....for Maine oysters check out: http://www.gliddenpoint.com (:

WeddingReviewed on June 17, 2017From Westerlo, NY

We hired the Bernstein-Bard Trio for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Can't possibly say enough about these guys. They were so professional and, with all the hectic wedding planning, it was such a relief to have a reliable vendor you didn't have to worry about on the day of. Steve's response time to emails/calls/any needs we had was insanely good (almost frighteningly so!). They were extremely accommodating too - they learned a song just for my wife's processional without any complaint... if anything, they were excited to arrange and perform it. The music sounded GREAT too, and we got lots of compliments from our guests. Would definitely recommend!

EventReviewed on December 28, 2015From Lake Placid, NY

Booking the Bernstein Bard Trio (plus a fiddle player) was one of the best decisions we made during our Adirondack wedding weekend. We hired the band to play at our rehearsal dinner, which was a Bluegrass BBQ-style event at an ADK great camp with about 50 people attending. They played a wide range of music (with an emphasis on bluegrass at our request) and many guests commented on the excellent music. I would book them again in a heartbeat.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 30, 2014From Highland, NY

Steve Bernstein and his band (a quartet) were absolutely fantastic! Steve was responsive, professional, and jovial. He was full of suggestions and very easy-going when I changed my mind more than a few times. He was quick to hire a square-dancing caller when that was on the itinerary; then quick and happy to accommodate a change of mind, hiring a clarinetist instead. When I asked if he could play Adele's version of "Feel My Love" as I walked down the aisle, he arranged and debuted it just for us on our special day. Our cocktail hour was fun and easy-going, inviting impromptu dancing. It was clear that the band enjoyed their work! We did too! Thank you Bernstein Bard!

The Bernstein Bard trio did an excellent job for Greta and Rob's wedding. As per my daughters request, they made beautiful arrangements of Beatles music for the ceremony. The music they provided for the cocktail hour was wonderful and enjoyable for everyone. I was most impressed with the professionalism and musicianship of the Bernstein Bard trio. as a musician myself, I truly appreciate the high level of craft they bring to the job. I would highly recommend the Bernstein Bard trio to anyone!

WeddingReviewed on September 26, 2015From Latham, NY

We had our wedding at Century House in upstate NY in September. These guys killed it, the guests were even on their feet and applauding during the ceremony. They learned a beautiful Russian song for my wife and they also learned a cool version of "Girl you'll be a woman soon" for the processional. We loved all of their Beatles covers too. In short, these guys rule.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 29, 2014From Keuka Park, NY

The Bernstein-Bard trio was professional, accommodating, and most importantly, sounded fantastic. After playing a beautiful set for our wedding ceremony, which couldn't have gone better, they sped things up a bit and entertained our guests for an hour of cocktails. Everyone had great things to say and it really added a unique touch to our wedding. I would recommend the trio to anyone. Couldn't be happier!

WeddingReviewed on November 20, 2013From Rhinebeck, NY

My husband and I are huge music lovers, and we hired the Bernstein Bard Trio (adding a violinist to make it a Quartet), as they came highly recommended by our event coordinator. We asked them to play classical music for the ceremony, bluegrass for the cocktail hour, and jazz for the reception. It was a tall order - and boy, they did not disappoint! The music was phenomenal; our guests were raving about it all night long. Additionally, they were very professional, friendly, and accommodating in the months leading up to the wedding. I would hire them again in a heartbeat, and I encourage anyone else to do the same. FANTASTIC job, thank you Bernstein Bard Trio!!!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on December 11, 2012From Hancock, NY

They were absolutely wonderful! With no prior discussion or agreement they allowed two guests to sing using their equipment while they improvised playing along. It was fantastic! We received compliments all night and afterwards just how much the guests enjoyed the music! They were personable, experienced and provided our reception with just the right atmosphere! We highly recommend The Bernstein-Bard Trio along with their fiddle player!!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on June 17, 2012From Margaretville, NY

We had a recent party for my mother's 100th birthday and desired to have acoustic music for our afternoon biffet. The Bernstein Bard Trio set the perfect mood for a wonderful event. The music transports you back to a time when conversations can also be had by your guests. The style of music is also very adaptable to a variety of events - I could also imagine their music in an outdoor setting in Tuscany! It was lovely. Thank you!

We were beyond pleased with the Bernstein-Bard Trio. Not only are they terrific musicians, but their warmth and friendliness made it feel like they were part of our extended family. It was a pleasure working with them, from the first phone call to the last song. Thank you, gentlemen, for helping to make the wedding such a joyous occasion.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on July 3, 2010From Woodstock, NY

Perfect band for my intimate wedding of NY jews and small-town Texas. They played everything from Israeli folk songs for the ceremony, to swing and country for the dancing and a great Hora.I wanted to surprise everyone by performing a few originals, so I secretly emailed the band the tracks before the wedding and they did a great job learning them. The bride in her wedding dress with a guitar was a smash! The band was extremely professional and talented! Eric Weissberg (banjo picker who played dueling banjos in "Deliverance") lives down the road from the wedding site and said he sat out on his porch and had a great concert all night long! -Talia Bryce, Austin, TX
