Brattleboro Swing Duo Swing Band from Brattleboro, VT

The Brattleboro Swing Duo plays Swing tunes from the 1920's, '30's and 40's. Our music is joyful and upbeat, enchanting, yet unobtrusive; perfect background for a wedding reception or cocktail party. Our style is improvisatory and fluent, true to the creative impulse that has been with these tunes since the beginning. Danceable, singable, familiar, and always fun, with depth and a smile. Walter (clarinet) and Bill (guitar) have been playing together since 1999; a lively presence at area venues such as weddings, birthday parties, dinner parties, gallery openings, farmers' markets and celebrations of all sorts. The clarinet is unamplified, the guitar uses a small amp to balance the instruments at the same level. Pleasant, exciting, and compelling, but never too loud. We both sing. In addition to Swing, we play a number of tunes in other styles, including Latin, Bossa, show-tunes, straight-ahead jazz, Klezmer, traditional, folk, funk and originals. Brattleboro Swing Duo is happy to accompany your party; we don't expect to be the center of attention.
