Aspen Black is an authentic working cowgirl, singer-songwriter, poet, and children's author who will bring the magic of music, words, or the western lifestyle to you! For birthday parties, VBS, summer camps, festivals, kid zones at private parties, weddings, or corporate events, and more, choose from one of the two packages below, or craft your own! The "Party Package" includes: 1. Authentic Cowboy Games - Lasso the Steer (kids throw a real lasso around a plastic steer head attached to a hay bale), Stick Horse Barrel Racing, Stick Horse Pole Bending, Round-Up!, Musical Feed Sacks, and a (water) Gun Fight at the OK Corral. 2. Cowboy Poetry Reading and related craft, based on Aspen's original poem "The Donk-i-corn", published in her 2016 book, "Peek-A-Boo, Buckaroo". 3. Campfire Songs - Listen, move, and sing along to fun originals and old favorites, and learn to play cowboy guitar (instruments provided) The "party package" spans 2-3 hours of fun, depending on the number of children participating, and can be repeated, throughout the day, for larger events. Best suited for ages 3-8. Younger toddlers can, typically, have just as much fun in all activities with the help of an older child or adult. Minimum area needed: a 40X60, relatively flat, outdoor area (most back or front yards work well), or a similar-sized room indoors (free of breakable objects). In a pinch (typically bad weather), the activities can be amended to fit into a relatively open residential garage, living room, rec room, or basement. The "Festival Package" includes: 1. One, or more, stage concert sets of original, and sing/move-along, songs for children and families. 2. Explore and Learn in the children's tent/area - I bring a variety of instruments (10 +) for children to touch, explore the sounds of, and, time and numbers permitting, learn a little about playing. 3. Activities from the "Party Package" can also be added, a-la-carte, for extra fun in the children's area. Most of these activities can fit under a standard tent, or in a designated children's area. If you choose to add games from the party package, a grassy area, or large room, of approx. 40 X 60 is recommended. If you are looking for general entertainment, in addition to children's activities, I am also available for 30 min. - 2 hour sets on other stages at your event. Most of my music and poetry is original, some has won national awards, and all is family-friendly. Custom Event: Are the packages too long? Too short? Have too many activities? Not enough? Choose those you want and I will craft a custom event for you. Notes- All game and activity components (rope, steer head, barrels, poles, cow vests, feed sacks, and water guns), craft materials, and instruments are provided for your use during the booked session. All activities can be outdoor or indoor, except for the water gun game, in which water guns will be substituted for nerf-type guns, indoors. In the cases where participants will number over 50, craft materials will be provided for a minimum of 50, as part of the package. Additional craft materials can be added for a small fee, or you can choose to offer crafts, first come, first serve, while materials last. As you will see in my photos, sometimes my daughter, and occasionally, my son, comes with me to provide music, reading, and assist in running our portion of your event. A travel charge will apply to all events beyond a 50 mile radius of Rocky Mount, VA. About Aspen Black: Aspen Black is a singer/songwriter, cowgirl poet, author, painter, and award-winning horse woman.
