About The JAM Factory (in my own words) MISSION My unique skill-set as a formally trained and experienced Disc Jockey, Emcee and Saxophonist makes me 'Triple-Qualified' to entertain at your event. Our mission is to 'Make Your Next Event One of Your Favorite Memories'. BACKGROUND I founded The JAM Factory Mobile Entertainment Company in 1995 while working as a Memphis, TN radio personality. My studies in journalism/mass communications at Arkansas State University prepared me to work in the radio industry (1989-1996) covering the gamut from gospel announcer, to hip-hop announcer, to talk show producer, music director and voiceover artist. I also pursued a minor in music at ASU. A tour in the USAF (1982-1985) landed me in Boston, MA where I continued studying music & performed in various Reggae & Rock cover bands. While absorbing the rich and varied musical culture of Boston, I frequently attended parties in NYC, Philadelphia, Jersey, etc. where I saw some of the greatest DJs in history (including Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, Larry Levan, Afrika Baambaataa, Charlie Chase, The Cold Crush Brothers and DJ Cosmo). In 2008 (thru 2011) I accepted considerably less bookings with The JAM Factory as I toured the United States playing saxophone with Southern Soul legend Marvin Sease. We encountered such musical greats as Jeffrey Osborne, The Whispers, Cyndi Lauper, DJ Cupid (creator of The Cupid Shuffle), Clarence Carter and Millie Jackson to name a few. Our performance in Denver during the 2008 Democratic National Convention (which nominated Barack Obama) is one of my most memorable experiences. SERVICES The JAM Factory is once again in full-swing, and accepting engagements for corporate functions, private events, weddings and dance parties. We offer East Coast-style DJ mixing, Emcee service, Live Music, Party Lights and online event planning.
