Salsa Band from San Francisco, CA - Will travel up to 10 miles
MEMBER SINCE 2009
$1200 - $7500
What is Salsa Dura? Literally translated it's 'Hard Salsa', a genre of Salsa that is the polar opposite of 'Salsa Romantica'. This is not Salsa cooking on a low flame! Salsa Dura is all of the hard pounding montunos and Barrio-conscious lyrics from the 70's. We keep the tradition alive with our own original songs that can be just as experimental and open to new ideas as the first wave of Salsa Music coming out of New York, with our West Coast version. Orquesta Salsa Dura has plenty of original compositions for televised or radio events, or any other performance with copyright limitations. We can also play some of the hottest old school Salsa hits, or a combination of the two.
Who is Salsa Dura? Formed May 2007 and based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Orquesta Salsa Dura's founding members include musicians Orlando Morales on Timbale, Scott Brown on Cuatro, David Barrios on Trombone and Mike Parykaza on Trumpet. Notable Bay Area performances have included: The Redwood City Salsa Festival, The Portola Street Festival (SF), Pier 23 (SF), The Vanessa Carias Show, The Cigar Bar (SF), The Pacifica Coast Fog Fest, Jack London Square for the Latin American Music Festival, The Summer Arts Festival (Garberville, CA), and the Half Moon Bay Brewery.
