Sorry, The Flipside Burners don't play "Uptown Funk". No Disco or Rap either. They don't cater to the current popular craze unless maybe it was inspired by 40's or 50's. They do however guarantee to get the dance floor jumpin' with some cool vintage Rockabilly or swingin' Jump Blues tunes. The Flipside Burners are a popular San Diego based band with a fun vintage Rockabilly and Rock & Roll roots vibe that plays danceable, Traditional 50' Rockabilly, (with a little "grease" added), early Rock &Roll, Neo Rockabilly and will occasionally jump into a 1940's T-Bone Walker inspired Jump Blues. The Flipside Burner who pride themselves in fabulous musicianship and song writing, are an extremely popular, busy San Diego based band that has played hundreds of shows all over San Diego county over the last few years. They are currently working on their first CD of original tunes. The Flipside Burners are influenced by the bands and artists of a better time who shaped Rock & Roll. For all you millennials, this would include: Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, T-Bone Walker, Elvis, The Stray Cats, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Gene Vincent, and many others. The Flipside Burners have played at the Gator by the Bay Festival, Casinos, and many top music venues in San Diego County. Members of the Flipside Burners have previously played alongside of some of the top recording artists in the US and Europe. The Flipside Burners usually play as a trio: Guitar, Stand Up Bass and Drums but will occasionally have some amazing quest performers play with the band including T-Rex on Bass. Rock and Country (known as "Hillbilly" Music). Hence the term "Rockabilly". Usually characterized by an uptempo rocking beat with a slapping stand up bass, twanging electric guitar and often early "Elvis" style vocals. In the mid-late seventies in the UK it was revived by Neo Rockabilly bands, the Stray Cats leading the way, into a music and fashion subculture characterized by a dress code based on 1950s American "Greaser" theme and Hot Rod B-movies. Band Member Bios: MARK FAHL: GUITARIST/ VOCALIST Mark started playing guitar in the 60's and has played in many popular bands and venues in San Diego County including The Gator By the Bay Festival, Hard Rock Café, Pechanga, Pala, Sycuan, Veijas, Jamul Casinos. He has played guitar behind some very popular recording artists (see below). PETER BOGLE: DRUMS: Pete is one of the best drummers in the county...bar none. Pete won the 1992 San Diego Guitar Center Drum-off - the nation's premier drum competition. He has been a professional drummer and entertainer for more than forty years. Pete has toured Scandinavia and played with some of the best musicians in Europe as well as playing with many top popular bands and at top venues in San Diego including Buddie Blue, Charles Burton Band. He has a dog named Dexter who enjoys doggie treats very much. JUSTICE QUEVARA: BASS. Justice is one talented young man. He can slap that Dog house Bass with the best of them. He is in high demand because of his musical skills and showmanship. He also plays a mean guitar. TOM BENZON: BASS Tom is a skilled master musician. Before arriving in the US from England in 2018 Tom played bass and toured recorded with some of Europe's top musicians including singer, gold record sensation Jack Savoretti. Tom played bass on his third album and recorded the song "Soldiers Eyes" which has received over 7 million views on YouTube.
