Joe Davis has been playing guitar since 1976, touring and performing at age 13. He has a passion for all forms of guitar music including classical, blues, folk, heavy metal and southern rock. All the worlds most famous groundbreaking guitarists, such as Hendrix, Randy Rhodes,Van Halen, Roy Clark, and many many others.. inspired his passion. The fame or fortune of rock star status was never the motivating factor for Joe. It was all about the music and his passion of guitars.
He was a true road dog, living in motels and playing in bars as he traveled through the south with his guitar and his passion to make a name for himself. Around the early 90's Joe teamed with former Likitty Splytt frontman John Allen to create a super powerful southern hard rock band called Dark Horse. They performed shows with national rock acts and traveled the states. The birth of the breakthrough album Live from the Delta Hubcap proved a pivotal point in his career, however after the death of the bassist Mike Patrick and mismanagement, the band folded.
In 1998 Joe Davis, with help of long time friend and bassist Keith Anderson formed an adrenaline-charged rock band called Super Mule. Ronnie Van Zant from Lynyrd Skynrd inspired the name by calling his guitarists mules. Joe did the vocals and guitars, Keith played bass and they were joined by a cast of unique and insane drummers. The band played all the classic rock favorites from Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynrd, Blackfoot, Ozzy, ZZ Top and many others. The band was a success and the experience was tremendous. Fans rewarded them with their loyalty and the performances were worth every cent.
Soon after the buzz erupted, several labels interested in signing the band approached them. One major label pressed the band to change the name to The Joe Davis Band. Joe wanted to be a band not a one-man show but after a few meetings, they decided it was in their best interest to do so. The Joe Davis Band rolled on. They focus on creating original material and being true entertainers. The Joe Davis Band, has performend many shows, from opening for national rock acts to headling their own tours and concerts.
