No Middle Ground (NMG) has been in the making for four years. Mike (lead vocals) and Jeff (guitars/keys) met through a mutual friend and formed a band called USED. USED was a typical garage band filled with potential and musical influence but lacking in cohesivieness, equipment, and committed members. Predictably, the group broke up after a year, writing only a handful of songs. Then, Mike and Jeff entered a national talent search (C.A.T.S.) under the bandname No Middle Ground. When they were selected to compete in the West Coast finals, they had to quickly form a new band in order to particpate. The new band formed with an uncommon sense of mission about their life-calling and career path. Personally, members of NMG have a unique story to tell---pieces of which are found in their songs and shared at concerts. Buried in their collective past, you will find drug addictions, in-patient rehab, wiccan, sexual promiscuity, emotional upheaval, and deaths of alchoholic parents. All of them also share one thing that binds them together eternally, gives them purpose, and healed the wounds of their past: a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. So, after winning the region, No Middle Ground went on to perform in a nationally televised showcase playing their only song at that time, "Crazy 'Round Here." Since 2003, No Middle Ground has produced two demos at Painted Sky Studios with Steve Crimmel in Cambria, CA as well as placing in two different talent searches (Summer Soundoff, Exalting Him! N.T.S) at the regional level. As part of this step in their musical career, the members of No Middle Ground (Mike, Jeff, Mat, Steve, and Daniel) formed a legal partnership called NMGMUSIC. Recently, NMG has started receiving interest and praise from national A&R reps and industry professionals as they release songs from their "self-titled" commercial debut CD. It is an exciting time for NMG! Be a part of it!
