Now, I know I'm leaving a lot of stuff out but you'd have to write a novel to tell the whole story so I'm just paraphrasing here and the way I saw it all go down was….
In the hot summer of 2005, the future singer of Harmonic Prophecy, Joel Byrum, had met his future bass player and best friend, Todd Krause. They met with a few other friends and formed Filtered Truth. In the weeks that would soon follow, lives were changed, mistakes were made, and bridges had been burned. The future was uncertain for these two friends. But after countless late nights of drinking and debauchery, Todd and Joel discovered a highly talented individual by the name of Trent Jacobsen, who would later become the lead guitarist of Harmonic Prophecy . As it were, Todd and Trent had actually been friends for sometime before Todd met Joel. Not to mention Todd lived in the same apartment complex as Trent for months, without even knowing it. At that time, Trent was living with a roommate, Chris Candelari. Chris and Trent were looking to start a band. So Joel, Todd, Trent and Chris formed Deadfish in the summer of 2006.
The hard-lucked gentlemen of Deadfish had gone through drummer after drummer. Even Chris' kid brother, Steven, who they rightly called "The Kid", because he was 17 at the time, had also played drums for the band at one point. Then they met Ryan Rossiter, who is the man behind the name, "Harmonic Prophecy". Ryan played drums for the band from early 2006-2007. Trent and Joel had written a song sometime before meeting Ryan that they called "Harmonic Prophecy". But it was Ryan's idea to make that title the name of the band. Everyone agreed. So from that point on, the band was then known as HARMONIC PROPHECY.
In the years to come, the band grew and evolved. Again, lives were changed, mistakes were made, and bridges had been burned. But destiny was calling this time. Trent found his own prophecy fulfilled just like the song "Southern California" and moved back to his home in Orange County. Chris found a new life in Las Vegas. But the remaining members of Harmonic Prophecy still had a few tricks up their sleeve. You see, some say the band was cursed with the misfortune of keeping a steady drummer. In fact, the band had gone through 6 drummers and still had not been able to hold on to any of them. Until one day……Todd & Joel met Cory. Lucky Number 7.
Now let me just say, Cory is a blessing to the band of Harmonic Prophecy. Some would say that the "curse" was lifted. No one knows for certain what the future will bring. But one thing is for certain, The Prophecy will be fulfilled, and the boys of Harmonic Prophecy will make their way through history. So you can say what you wanna say and you can do what you wanna do. No matter how hard you try, in the end it us and we're all gonna fuckin' die.
