Groove Coalition is a high-energy musical group that was formed by members from the band Dysphasic along with vocalist extraordinaire Teya Tanner. They joined together to provide St.Louis and the surrounding areas with some of the best danceable music around. Groove Coalition captures a wide variety of music including rock, alternative, dance, classic rock, 80's and acoustic pleasers. Because of their broad musical genres and ability to read a crowd, they are able to adapt to the entertainment demands of diverse audiences. On Lead Guitar is Jose “El Puma” Diaz. Armed with his 7 string guitar Jose is known as one of the best guitar players in the area. His energy and musical savvy make this band's musical performance stand apart from the rest. He has also won several guitar competitions including several rounds of Guitarmageddon at the Guitar Center. Watching Jose play your favorite song and nail the solo is always an unforgettable experience. Teya Tanner hails from Sydney Australia via Vancouver BC where she toured for more than twenty years with a variety of bands. Teya shares lead vocals as well as fills in on keyboards and harmonica (she is also known for playing a mean Kazoo!). She demonstrates an amazing high-powered performance, an ability to harmonize, and a unique vocal texture which enables her to capture all ears within listening range. Her vocal style reflects traces of Hynes, Joplin and Morrisette - but she definitely adds her own vocal element to the mix! Keith Brake shares the Lead and backup vocals and rhythm guitar. Keith’s aggressive vocals encompass a wide variety of styles, and his bold delivery and dynamic stage presence gives the band a heavy edge that sets them apart from other cover bands. The rhythm section consists of Tony Mueller on Drums, and Brian Schifferdecker on Bass. They have played together in several different band collaborations and are truly the 'backbone' of the band - they cement the groove and keep the beat rock-solid.
