$500 - $2000 per night
Any fan of live music who has lived in the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area for any time is probably familiar with 606.

Since the band’s inception in ‘88 (originally known as The Sharks), 606 has played alongside the likes of Howard Jones, Jon Secada, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Cause & Effect, Stevie B., Foghat, Firehouse, Gene Loves Jezebel, etc. The band also headlined at St. Pete Pier for the 1991 New Year’s Eve party, playing to one hundred thousand people. They were the featured band for USF’s Bull Blast at The Sun Dome and for the Tampa Bay Bucs Kick-Off Party at the Tampa Stadium. They’ve played various out-of-state college concerts & frat. parties, a number of Bennigan’s St. Patrick’s Day big tent parties (setting attendance records at one of the Sarasota stores) and they were brought to Louisville to play during The Kentucky Derby weekend. From mid 1994-1997, 606 regularly played before approximately 10,000 people each weekend as the house-band at Harpo’s of Ybor City.

During the last decade, 606 released three independent CDs of original music: the ten-track “Never...Ever...” (under the name The Sharks); the fifteen track “Awash In Controversy”; the eleven-track “I Can” of which track #7, “I’ve Got Something” won Runner Up in the Dance Category of the John Lennon Song Writing Contest in 1999 (this is the largest song writing contest in the world).

Now, after a couple years away from the music scene, these seasoned performers have joined again to recreate the up-beat alternative-pop band known as 606.

606 is made up of founding members Rodney Shenk (vocals and bass guitar) and Myron Miller (guitar and backing vocals), along with the energetic and beautiful Mj (vocals) *Mj is currently away on maternity leave* , and newcomers Orlando Torres (guitar and backing vocals) and Gavin Riley (drums).

A typical 606 set-list includes alternative-pop songs from today, the ‘90s and the best of the ‘80s. The band also has enough originals in their repertoire to play 1/2 the night when (and only when) it is appropriate.

As you can see, the members of 606 have lived the definition of “professional musician”. It is this professional approach to music and their notorious easygoing attitude that makes 606 a musical experience that needs no apology.
