La Raza Connection Cover Band from Houston, TX

A hard hitting, dynamic, seasoned rock and roll group with Latin and Spanish influence, La Raza Connection was founded by Lead singer/ guitar virtuoso Larry Lozano in 95'. Larry began playing guitar and piano at age 5 and trumpet in stage bands at fourteen. He studied under Louis Gasca who at the time was playing for Santana. Later on Larry left school to perform all over San Antonio, Austin, and California playing all the top clubs. He recorded 3 origional c.d.'s, sold over 15000 copies, and even had the honor of opening up for Selena on more than one occasion, playing the Tejano Music Awards, and for the troops over seas. Drummer, James Vargas Jr. was born into the music scene playing in several tejano bands for the past 20 yrs. He's not a man of many words, but his power drumming and universal rythms make a statement that will keep your heart thumping and your feet moving! The newest member of La Raza Connection is 26 yr. old bassist/ singer James Mendiola. James began playing numerous instruments at a very early age, and is always determined to put on the best show he can and then some. Trained in jazz bass, piano, and percussion he makes a great addition to the band adding fuel to the fire and holding down the low end while singing the highs.
