Joseph "Fanfan" Louis Singer from Washington, DC

Joseph Franz Louis' passion for music has led him to become a master of Haitian Folk music, Brazilian music, Soca, and Afrobeat. An original founder of Boukman Experience, and a former member of Disney World's Animal Kingdom Performance Troupe Wassalu, Joseph's knowledge of folk life musical tradition has afforded him the opportunity to perform all over the United States, Canada and the Caribbean to diverse audiences of all ages. Accomplished in classical Guitar, he creates music that rides the middle ground between American Jazz, Classical music and traditional Caribbean Folk music styles. For his contributions in composition and performance, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Smithsonian National Institute and was nominated "Best Guitarist" by his peers at the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). For more than twenty years, Joseph, who is affectionately known as "Fan Fan", has delighted listeners with his music, his creativity, and his personal attention to detail. His new cd, "Between a Rock and A Heartbreak", exemplifies his wide taste and skill.
