For the past 2 decades Ashanti Munir has been entertaining audiences up and down the east coast of the USA with her soulful voice. She has done many of the things that most aspiring soul singers strive to do. In 1992 she not only competed at the world famous "Amateur Night at the Apollo" in Harlem NYC, she won! In 2008 Ashanti traveled to England twice to perform a total of 5 shows. She has fronted her own band as well as many of the top wedding bands in the Boston area like Soul Source, E Water Band, Soul of Boston, Synergy, BlackSole and Groove Authority. Ashanti has released 2 CDs titled "Balance" (2008) and "Soul of a Woman" (2010). Both CDs received critical acclaim in England and around the world! When she's not out promoting her latest CD, Ashanti performs in nightclubs, weddings and at corporate events. She has a sizzling repertoire of classic soul, smooth jazz and pop music! Ashanti's voice has often been compared to Gladys Knight and Evelyn "Champagne" King.
