Ruby Woo R&B Singer from Atlanta, GA

Having worked behind the scenes writing and providing vocals for producers and artists, songstress Ruby Woo now prepares to step to the forefront with her first solo project, tentatively entitled A Moment in Time. Born in Pittsburg, California, Woo's musical journey unwittingly began in church. “I never really shared with anyone that I could sing,” she recounts. “My step-sister was the one who volunteered me to sing my first solo and after that I sang all the time.” While in high school, Woo joined forces with several other artists to form a rap group called Western Conference. The group performed throughout the Bay-Area and released several recordings. After graduating, Woo left the group to pursue a business management degree at Alabama State University. During this time, Woo attempted to put her music career on the back burner, but the call of music, proved too strong. Eventually moving to Atlanta, Ruby connected with artists such as Travis Porter and began developing her own sound. With a style described as Eclectic Soul, Ruby's tastes cross a wide range of musical genres. Nevertheless, Woo counts legends such as Etta James and Amy Winehouse as her musical inspirations. “I want to be the type of artist that leaves a lasting impact on people.” With a passion for singing and songwriting Ruby Woo hopes to inspire people through her music. A Moment in Time is scheduled for release in spring of 2014.
