I am a Distinguished Toastmaster and a retiree after 40 years with the U.S. Foreign Service, having traveled to 100 countries and lived and worked in a dozen countries in Asia and Latin America. I speak a number of languages . I give entertaining and informational speeches from my own experience about culture, people, and language, and also about life in the United States -from my growing up a minority (half-black/half American Indian) with racial challenges in the 40s and 50s, to how America has changed in positive ways over the years and how as an exceptional country we have led the world towards greater freedom, compassion, and prosperity. I can from my own experience in life motivate the young and touch the hearts of all. I have reached out to those who want to get back on or want to stay on a good path in life, I give expert presentations and training on how to become a better public speaker, or on how to engage and hold an audience, or how to prepare for and present PowerPoint. Based on my many years in the service of our country, I present on U.S. foreign policy, how strategic partnerships and alliances between the government and private groups (universities, nongovernmental organizations, and the for profit sector) can deliver more benefit to clients than any one organizational structure operation non its own. I can talk from personal experience about the importance of education as a path from poverty to a good life in our country and overseas. I can talk about the U.S. Foreign Aid program - its challenges and its successes. I am a magician. I use magic, images, and descriptive word pictures to invite audiences into my speeches. I especially enjoy speaking and performing for young audiences (5 and above), to teens, to young adults and to more senior citizens. Never boring, I do not use canned speeches. I prepare a presentation for each audience. Rather than having the audience fit into a specific set of fixed speeches that may not be on target with the needs and interests of the audience, I prepare a presentation to meet the needs of each audience. I would love to introduce you to a world of color, marvel, awe, human relationships, and to our special relationship with nature and the universe an understanding that comes from being raised by an American Indian mother and from my understnaidng of Buddhism and eastern philosophies of man's relationship with man and with Nature..
