As a native of Atlanta and professional keyboard musician since 1967 (42 years...YIKES), I have performed for an extreme variety of interesting and FUN events. I was organist for Atlanta Braves Baseball, featured Theater Organist at "Showboat Pizza Emporium" in Marietta, GA, pianist and musical director for comedy theater at "Applehaus" in Helen, GA, and was a regular 'piano picker' at "Aunt Fanny's Cabin" in Smyrna, GA.
I have worked with notable personalities such as Liberace, Loretta Lynn, Melissa Manchester and Anita Bryant; provided dinner/reception music for state, national and international dignitaries; performed for thousands of private occasions for businesses and individuals (including IBM, Kodak, Campbell's Soup, Lockheed, Atlanta Golf Classic Association, Macy's, Sears, Rich's, Georgia Power, Kennesaw State University), and since 1970, I have performed the ceremonies and receptions for more than 4200 Wedding related events!
Currently (for more than 20 years), I perform on Friday evening at the Atlanta Country Club, providing sparkling piano instrumentals during dinner hours, then progressing into more lively presentations (with guest participation) in the lounge.
I am a self-taught performer who plays mostly 'by ear', and I teach my own 'by ear' piano method to students from 103 countries (over the internet).
Although I am comfortable performing in a variety of settings, my favorite events are occasions which promote an atmosphere of celebration among friends and family. I am particularly well suited for events where a wide variety of ages are represented...such as Weddings, Receptions, Business Events, Retirement, Birthday and Christmas Parties. I especially enjoy "Sing-A-Long" Parties because they're just plain FUN (I provide word sheets)!
With a strong background in family entertainment, I generally provide a mixture of GREAT AMERICAN and INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS, GOLDEN OLDIES, CONTEMPORARY POP, light CLASSICAL, SHOW TUNES, MOVIE THEMES, RAGTIME and BOOGIE WOOGIE. If your event is during the Christmas season, I also can provide more than 6 hours of non-stop seasonal music with no repetition.
My role as a musician is to BE the "life of the party", and I usually accomplish that by injecting a spirit of life and rhythmic vitality into the music your guests will recognize and enjoy. I also take requests, and will gladly work with you (the organizer of the event) to create whatever atmosphere you seek.
My goal for every gig is to create an atmosphere so enjoyable that your guests will think you're 'brilliant' for hiring me (and they will be right, if we're a good match)!
THANK YOU for considering my music for your special event!
