Michael John Hall has the rare ability to take even rock "standards" and play them at their simple essence. Whether it his almost eerie cover of David Bowie's "Ground Control to major Tom" or his slow version of Maria Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" from his "Dashing Through the Snow" CD, or tracks from his "Soft and Sacred, Michael John Hall Plays the Beatles," every track is soft, simple and peaceful. "But it is not just about tears," says Hall. "It is about opening the heart and freeing the Soul." Hall now lives in Santa Fe New Mexico, where his Petrof grand piano and his home recording studio make it possible to share his "Midnight Whispers" with a global audience. My style is soft, slow and quiet. Not for dancing or sing-along, but more for peaceful ambiance. While I prefer to play a well-tuned grand piano, I do have a professional Yamaha digital piano and sound system.
