Whether you need sophisticated background music, something you can dance to, a familiar tune to hum or sing along with, or just relaxed listening, Jim provides a beautiful variety of musical entertainment from his extensive repertoire by performing Classical, show tunes, country, contemporary, holiday songs, jazz, pop, children's favorites, love songs, the 50's and 60's, patriotic and service songs, his own original compositions, and more. As one of Milwaukee's favorite pianists, Jim has been highlighted on local television and has performed at diverse venues such as community and corporate events, private parties, cinemas, pre-theater gatherings, charitable events, weddings, senior care facilities, open houses, the Wisconsin Governor's Mansion, the Mall of America, and so much more. He is also Resident Artist at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, also known as "The Domes". Jim has studied Classical and other types of music for ten years under pianist and composer, S. Marion Verhaalen at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Jim has also studied Classical music for four years under Professor J. Jaimes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has also taken some jazz lessons at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music with jazz pianist Mark Davis. His awards include 4 WSMA gold medals and 1 silver medal as well as 2 NFMC gold cups in piano solo. Jim has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Composition and Technology, graduating with gold cord honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This rich background in music has enabled Jim to play with depth and emotion in all music genres, conveying that heartfelt feeling to his listeners.
