Solo or in combo, Jerry's romantic, winning jazz piano is a hit at weddings, parties, and business bashes at fine venues such as the Cafe Carlyle, Rainbow Room, Tavern on the Green, and hundreds more. His versatile, engaging performance includes Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, selected pop, and classical and Jewish wedding music. He's the leader/pianist of WEAVER OF DREAMS.
In a previous career in the theatre, he was music director of the Classic Stage Company, and in 1975 co-founded the Soho Repertory Theatre and was its co-artistic director for 14 years. Soho Rep's alumni include Kevin Spacey and Kathleen Turner, and Jerry's contribution to theatre is documented in a new book by Christopher Olsen about the early years of off-off-Broadway.
Jerry has worked at many fine venues, including the Rainbow Room, the Carlyle, the Copacabana, the Tavern on the Green, the Waldorf Astoria, Le Cirque, the River Cafe, the Metronome, the Water Club, the Tribeca Grill, the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, the Sky Club, Studio 450, the Stanhope, the Hallmark, Manhattan Penthouse, World Yacht, Guastavino's, the Stone Rose, the Pierre, Detour, and the Bryant Park Cafe.
For five years he was pianist for the Rifftide Jazz Trio, with whom he played long-term residencies in New York City at Caravan of Dreams, Juniper Cafe, Nascimento, Oro Blue, and Bubby's. He also led his own trio at the late Friday night sessions at Detour.
He's available as a soloist, or he'll assemble any size combo of first-rate jazz musicians, including sax, bass, drums, and vocals. See the listing for WEAVER OF DREAMS on Gigmasters.
