Dave Earnhardt bio: Dear reader: Thank you for taking the time to read this description of my background and my aspirations as a performing pianist. I'm classically trained, I play jazz and blues by ear, as I have since I was thirteen years old, based on listening to recordings of major artists. Therefore improvisation is my forte, the form of playing from which I gain the most pleasure, by adding the joy of constant pleasurable surprise. For every occasion I am ready, anxious and happy to provide extraordinary harmony and sensory pleasure. I also compose my own genre of music, which adds variety to my repertoire. Background: I'm a native Denverite, where the first group I played in was "The Greg Reineke Rock & Roll Band," which played at the Robin's Nest on Lookout Mountain. My own group, the Blue Jazzmen, played at the Denver Folklore Center and the Green Onion. This group went on to play clubs in Illinois, and, after recording with Exit Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, disbanded because we all went to different colleges. I came back to Denver and played with numerous other groups, including Frank Wexler's "Canción," playing the Ground Round Steakhouse circuit, before I formed another group, in the mid-eighties, called "Equinox," with Paul Winsauer, Bob Star and Paul Wainwright. This group was quite successful, highlights of which include an 10-week gig in the Playboy Club Penthouse in the Radisson Hotel, opposite "Billy Tolls and Yesternow," backing the jazz group Chase, as well as comedians such as Jay Leno, Tom Melody, Willie Tyler and Lester. This was a great time because the members met many celebrities such as Rosie Grier and Woody Allen. Equinox also backed "Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids" at the Vail Village Inn Ski Resort, to rave reviews. Unfortunately this group disbanded in 1986, when all of us members went back east to attend college, Winsauer to medical school, Wright to business school, and me, to college to get a teaching degree. Please listen to the samples in my profile, which are from my album, "Classically Blue." I've also recorded on other musicians' albums, including the song, "Ashokan Farewell," on the album of guitarist Darren Skanson, "Acoustatherapy" and "Warrior Sunrise," on the album, "Reflections: A New Life," of another friend of mine, Eric Hererra (see , for whom I'm writing more songs. In the past few years I've begun performing publicly again, at Elodji's in Elizabeth, the Wolf Rock Restaurant in Keystone, for luaus with my friend, Mark Kahalekulu, and for private parties (see GigMaster reviews) . I hope you love my playing. Hope to hear from you soon! Thank you! Sincerely, Dave Earnhardt

Dave was terrific to work with and a hit at our House Warming party. He was very professional, very communicative, great follow up, and an extremely talented musician! We will definitely be calling upon him again for our future parties!
