Passionate Pianist, who's life is all about playing piano. Aza Torshkoeva was born on April 12, 1989 in a far north eastern corner of Russia, Kamchatka. In 1995 Aza started elementary, music, and dance schools. The schedule was extremely busy, all morning the elementary school, from afternoon till evening the music school, and in all evening until very late was the dance school. On the second year in the music school she participated in her first competition where she earned a third prize. After one month, she took part in the bigger piano competition, and Aza got the first prize. After that she competed in many competitions and always took one of the three prizes, most of the time it was the first prize. Simultaneously, there were a lot of performances with the dance school, where Aza was a soloist. Throughout the school and college years Aza earned many scholarships and got to the highest possible “presidential scholarship” Each year there were two or three piano competition, many dance competitions, choir and theory competitions. In 2003, she entered Music College and on the second year competed on the International Piano Competition of Young Performers in Finland “Musical Performance and Pedagogies” and won the third prize and became an International Laureate. It was first time for Aza to go overseas for the competition. In 2007, Aza graduated College of Music and chose to go to the United States, where she saw bigger opportunities in her career. In August 2007, she came to Tampa, FL and started to learn English in English Language Institute and music education at University of South Florida. During the second semester she competed in Florida Orchestra Competition, where she took a Grand Prize and an opportunity to perform with Florida Orchestra. Aza played with the Florida Orchestra in March 2009. In November 2009, Aza and some other piano students with their professor, Svetozar Ivanov, were invited by the American composer, David Del Tredici, to perform in the mid-town of Manhattan, NY. They played all music of David Del Tredici, and the composer was very excited to hear them, and he loved their performances. Her plans are to work as hard as she can and become a successful pianist. In November 2012, Aza and her friend Jana Ceteleva had performance in Chicago on Piano Duo Festival, which was very successful. Aza loves to give concerts, that is why if she has any opportunity to be on the stage, she will take it. In may 2013 , Aza graduated her Master's Degree in Piano Performance from University of South Florida. Currently, she is preparing for different competitions and festivals, and also she works as adjunct Faculty at the State College of Florida as Piano Instructor.
