We are a husband-and-wife team from two different worlds, united by our passion for photography. Daniel worked in fashion and advertising in his native Australia, while Kelli worked for magazines and newspapers in the United States. As fate would have it, our two worlds collided, magic happened, and we decided to get hitched.
Our Southern Belle meets Southern Cross love story took an unexpected twist when, prior to our wedding in 2004, we couldn't find a photographer. All we wanted was cool, creative, quality wedding photography, and what should have been an inspiring and exiting experience for us, quickly became frustrating.
As natural-born creatives, we decided to design our own blueprint for what wedding photography should be—from the emotional impact of the imagery to the process of working with a wedding photographer. In fact, our blueprint was such a hit and friends loved our magazine-style approach so much, that we started photographing their weddings. And in 2005, we officially launched our company.
These days, we proudly live and breathe all things weddings and we're also obsessed with our two slobbering basset hounds! We now call Birmingham home, along with Jenna, the rescue dog, and Scarlett, named for Scarlett O'Hara. When you call us, you'll probably hear Scarlett adding her two cents to the conversation. (We're so sorry, but she's just flat-out bad.)
Daniel Taylor Photography + Our Clients = Creative Collaboration
Daniel Taylor Photography exists to provide an ongoing evolution of fresh, creative photography that delights our clients and stretches us artistically. Whether shooting at the Sydney Opera House, at a 100-year-old hacienda in Spain, or in a Birmingham church, we strive to interpret modern images that are current, yet timeless.
Our brides crave creative, emotional images that capture those candid moments and tell the story of their love and their wedding day, along with every gorgeous detail they have worked so hard to plan. They want a wedding photographer who works with them to implement the big vision, offer suggestions, coordinate with vendors, and someone with whom they feel a creative connection. They reject cookie-cutter poses, and embrace the more artistic side of themselves as individuals and as a couple. And, often, they look to us to put them at ease and draw the more creative side out of them.
Whether your wedding style is classic, modern Southern, all-out glam, out-of-the-box creative, vintage, or DIY, our magazine-inspired wedding photojournalism will capture your day beautifully.
