This approach to our wedding photography has its origins in our founder and owner, Emilie Sommer. As a photojournalist and photo editor at USA Today and the Washington Post, Emilie trained her lens on everyone from presidents to rock stars to beauty queens, and she learned to capture the truth and emotion inherent in every assignment. But photographing a cousin's wedding on Maine's coast in 2001 got her hooked on documenting brides and grooms, and Emilie soon returned to Maine to launch her own wedding photography business. emilie inc. has since grown to include another half-dozen visual virtuosos and is the top wedding photography studio in the state. You'll find the same true-to-life documentary style in everything our photographers do, at a range of price points to accommodate a variety of budgets. Outside of our day-to-day wedding work, we also devote our time to Pink Initiative, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research founded by Emilie in 2008. We donate a portion of every wedding fee to this important cause.
