I am a writer. I am an artist. I have an unquenchable creative streak. I discovered at 22 that as a photographer I can be all those things at once. And I fell in love with it! Things I Love: Photography (obviously!) Art, Live Music, gettin down & dirty outdoors. Mountain climbing, Roller Skating, COFFEE SHOPS. Antiques. Small towns. Big hearts. Vintage anything. I am a my husband's girlfriend….striving to keep love fresh and still discovering new things about each other 10 years later! Three amazing boys and one precious girl call me mom, and they challenge me to see things like a pirate ship in their cheerios and castles in the clouds. They are the worst muses- most of my tricks have run out by the time they learn to walk and they never pose- so that has definitely influenced my overall shooting style and makes me well equipped to handle the ups and downs of the typical wedding. One of my little boys is now in Heaven, and losing him has shown me a deeper understanding of the power within photos- now our most cherished memories of his sweet six years with us! I am eclectic in all my tastes. I dance to Frank Sinatra and Lady Gaga. I drink coffee 100% of the time, but tea when I feel like it. Wear boots in summer and white in winter…but its Texas so we have no seasons anyway! I have a sense of humor and I am an optimist. I am resourceful, prepared for almost everything, and ready to just laugh at myself for the things I discover I am not prepared for. As a photographer I just see things differently. Its not something I can describe, but its kinda the same way my boys see pirate ships in their cheerios. My earliest inspiration that molded me into the photographer I am came from the cherished photo albums shared with me by my grandmothers. I was hooked on the connection they forged between generations, and the stories they told me about love and family long before I was even a part of that love and family. I think I am attracted most to the originality of every love. Love is a universal language, but it is spoken between people, each in their own way. Its my job to discover the uniqueness that defines each person, and make it present in timeless photo heirlooms.
