Anna is an awards winning wedding and event photographer. She was born and raised in Russia in Saint Petersburg, and immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1995 when she just turned 17. From her teenage years she was dreaming about an artistic, adventurous and free-spirited career, something that would allow her to express herself. She studied drawing and painting in the Art Students League of New York. and graphic and communication design at FIT.
Once, while taking a required photography class, Anna discovered for herself how much magic & joy there was in playing with light, while at the same time trying to portray people's feelings though photographs. Once she picked up her camera, she couldn't stop. And so, Anna found herself obsessively photographing all her friends, and every possible kind of outing party or event in New York City. She was fascinated by the possibility of capturing on film true outbursts of happiness and emotions; of how easy and natural for her it felt to approach people with her camera and catch them having the time of their lives!
It didn't take her long to realize that of all the visual arts, she liked the most the one that allowed her to be “closer to the action” - photography. After she was asked to shoot her first wedding for a couple of friends, she instantly understood that this is what she wanted to do with her life. Soon afterwards, Anna
was extremely fortunate to stumble upon a craigslist ad - an established high-end New York wedding photographer was looking for an apprentice - a 2nd shooter to train and work with for a whole year. Even though Anna didn't have much formal photography-specific training, she was so enthusiastic and excited about the opportunity that she got the job. Working tirelessly alongside this incredibly talented and hard working photographer, Anna learned all the tricks of the trade inside and out. The very next year she was ready to venture out on her own, thus Anna Rozenblat Photography got established in 2006 A year later Anna finally left her day job, and went on building her wedding-photography business full time.
Anna approaches every wedding as a unique event and always tries to think outside the box. She considers her photographic style to be artistic fun, and refreshing. Since she likes to create a natural and lighthearted atmosphere, brides feel excited yet relaxed, which helps Anna capture natural poses and amazing candid moments. She brings laughter and joy to the wedding day, and always tries to shoot the same with her camera. Besides photography, Anna is passionate about art, theater, sustainable living, environment, yoga and meditation. She tries to utilize meditation concepts in her photography whenever possible, believing that focus, being present in the moment fully, and filling her heart with happiness for those she is photographing does the trick of capturing their true essence. Anna's photos have been published in New York Times, Time Out New York magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, Contemporary Bride magazine, and Daily News.
Perhaps, it's also worth mentioning that Anna loves to travel. Having visited over 50 countries around the world, she is still curious to visit the other 140÷ of them She LOVES every aspect of emerging herself into different cultures. Being 'low-maintenance', easygoing and adventurous, she feels absolutely comfortable anywhere she is, regardless of whether she understands the local language. Her photographic habits allow her to take observing to a whole different level, and by watching the locals in every country, she tries to experience life through their eyes. Having said that, Anna is working mainly on the East Coast - in Boston & New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey & Connecticut, but if you are planning a destination wedding, the chances are - she would love to come!
Much love, light and blessings to everyone!
