Paul Whistler & Friends R&B Band from Asbury Park, NJ

Award Winning Musician, Songwriter, Recording Artist and Entertainer, Paul "Wadda Guy" Whistler has a long & storied career starting in early 1960's as a child singing & recording with the vocal group The Reminiscents. At 17 he toured as the keyboard player with #1 Girl Group,The Shangri Las As his career progressed he has performed with and/or opened for many renowned artists such as Chuck Berry, B.B.King, James Brown, Gary U.S.Bonds, Ben E.King, Willie Nile, Marshall Tucker, & @ WXPN's World Cafe Live, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Bobby Bandiera and many more. Paul is a member of The New Jersey Blues Hall of Fame and a founding member of S.O.A.P. (Society of Associated Performers), and is considered to be one of the co-founders of the Original Asbury Park Sound. Some of his bands were, "Jersey Jones", "The Blackberry Booze Band", "The Jersey All-Stars", "The Up-Stage Stranglers", "Whistler & The Wheels", "Whistler's Leopard Skin Revue" Currently, Paul along with old friend and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame drummer Vini "Maddog" Lopez have a new band called, "Dawg Whistle" which features many of Paul's originals as well as some classics and a full serving of "Tru-Blu Jersey Style R&B". Vini is the original drummer and co-founder of The E Street Band and recorded their first 2 albums (Considered the best by many). Dawg Whistle also has many special guests join them on stage from time to time, including the best regional & local musicians around. Dawg Whistle provides a truly authentic Post Modern original sound heavily based in Blues, R&B, Rock-a-Billy and Rock & Roll. Dawg Whistle can perform acoustically or electrically to suit any gig or venue. Paul also performs solo. Whether alone or in whatever band configuration you choose for your event, he is a top notch entertainer and real crowd pleaser.
