Hi! My name is Julia, and I am a working, professional operatic soprano. I have put my formal performer's biography below, but also wanted to let you know what kind of performances I sing beyond my stage engagements. I have performed for events sponsored by big corporations such as Fendi, GAMCO, The New York Historical Society, and more! Plus, I perform at intimate gatherings, such as house parties, weddings, or any special occasion! I look forward to helping make your event elegant and musical <3, Julia Now, for the serious bio: Julia Radosz has been praised by Musical America as a “lovely lyric soprano”, impressing with her “warm tone and agile phrasing” (Austin XL). This past season Ms. Radosz added the roles of Madama Butterfly (Raylynmor Opera) and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus (Staller Center for the Arts) to her repertoire. Ms. Radosz was also chosen as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos, sponsored by the Joan Sutherland/Richard Bonynge Foundation. This spring, Ms. Radosz debuted with Rhode Island Philharmonic in a Puccini concert led by Marie Jacquot, presented a recital of Liszt and Italian Grand opera in Carnegie Hall Presents . . . recital series in Florida, and created the role of Ophelia in the recording of Erik Lautier's new opera, Hamlet: an epic opera. Last season, Ms. Radosz made three role debuts as Musetta (La Bohème) with Wichita Grand Opera (opposite Sam Ramey), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Opera Orlando, and covered the role of Roxanne Conti (Contessa) in the critically acclaimed ¡Figaro! (90210) Off-Broadway which is an adaptation of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. She performed concerts with Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra featuring excerpts from La Traviata and La Bohème, and with Litha Symphony Orchestra featuring works by Wagner, Verdi, Mussorgsky, and Fauré, and a Rosa Ponselle tribute with Lyric Opera Baltimore at Ponselle's estate in Maryland- Villa Pace. She also joined the prestigious Bel Canto at Caramoor's Young Artist Program and was a featured soloist in several concerts. Previous performances include Violetta in La traviata with Delaware Valley Opera and North Dutchess Symphony Orchestra in which she was praised for her “astonishing performance, brilliant soprano and thrilling embellishments that were augmented by the most subtle and heart-rending acting” (Voce di Meche), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) with Cape Cod Opera, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) with North Shore Music Festival, Raylynmor Opera, and Opera Southeast, Helena (A Midsummer Night's Dream) and Magnolia Hawks (Showboat) with Opera Naples, Berenice in L'occasione fa il ladro with Little OPERA Theatre of NY, and Rose-Marie with Light Opera of New York. While in residency with Tri-Cities Opera, Ms. Radosz made several role debuts including Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), and Antonia (Les Contes d'Hoffman), where she received much praise for her “Spinning top … impressive chest register” and “pliable, rich soprano” (Broome Arts Mirror). With The Butler Opera Center, Ms. Radosz has sung Susannah, the Governess in Turn of the Screw, Lady Madeline in the American premiere of Debussy's opera La Chute de la Maison Usher, and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Austin, in which she was lauded for her “technically sound, rich performance” (The Austin Chronicle). Concert performances include works of Verdi and Donizetti with Annapolis Opera, excerpts from Rigoletto and La Traviata with Gulfshore Opera under the baton of Maestro Paul Nadler, Faure's Requiem with Litha Symphony Orchestra, Haydn's Creation with Broome County Orchestra, and recitals based on the repertoire of Jenny Lind and Marcella Sembrich, which were featured at the Bijou Theatre in Connecticut, and The Sembrich Museum, respectively. Ms. Radosz has garnered numerous awards, including: Winner of the Jenny Lind Competition, Connecticut Concert Opera Competition, Marcella Kochanska Sembrich Vocal Competition, and the 5 Towns Music and Arts Foundation Competition, a Grant Winner from The CareerBridges Foundation, 2nd Place in the Kosciuszko Foundation's Marcella Sembrich Vocal Competition, 2nd Place in the National Federation of Music Club's Biennial Young Artist Awards, 3rd place in New Jersey State Opera's Alfredo Siligpigni Competition, the Bel Canto Award at the Orpheus Competition, finalist in the Liederkranz Competition Opera Division, and a guild encouragement recipient at the Palm Beach Opera Competition.
