I am a singer, guitarist, pianist who also adds the occasional flute, violin, mandolin and harmonica to the mix. I have been performing in bands since 1971 and as a solo artist since 1982. I was classically trained on piano, had a few years of voice lessons and taught myself to play all the other instruments. I am fairly adept at improvising and write some music as well. My main focus is rock, pop material from the 50's to the present, with some blues, light jazz, a country tune or two, classical, folk and Irish traditional if the occasion or venue requires or if the audience is open to it. I can and do use backing tracks while performing but also do just guitar/vocal or piano/vocal. I mainly perform a range of music like James Taylor, Billy Joel, the Beatles, Elton John, Eric Clapton, the Eagles, America,Jim Croce, John Denver, CSN&Y, Jackson Browne, Dan Fogelberg to the Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, Journey, Steppenwolf, Led Zeppelin, etc. In addition to doing the one man band thing, I also play in two bands, Six Cents, a classic rock/pop band and Irishtown Road, a traditional Irish folk band. I always try to make a connection with an audience and make them a part of the performance, whether enticing them to dance or just listen. I am mainly playing one night stands in a 50 mile radius right now but plan on expanding that in the next few years.
