Dave Griffin, a seasoned performer for over 40 years, captures the essence of the music he grew up listening to from the Fifties, through the Sixties, and on into the Seventies and Eighties!
His vast and eclectic repertoire ranges from Van Morrison, Eagles, Rolling Stones, and Beatles to Tom Petty, David Bowie, Wilson Pickett, and AC/DC. And that's just scraping the surface.
"A little bit of everything goes a long way in pleasing your listening audience," says the versatile vocalist who leaves every gig with new friends and devotees.
Performing in bands since 1971, Dave has quite a few stories to tell...which he quite often does as he introduces the songs to the audience with a very homespun, personal feel.
He has performed in the backup band of talented artist, Percy Sledge; met the songwriter who penned Dobie Gray's huge hit, Drift Away, in Nashville; and had his original songs published by the late, great Bill Lowery of Atlanta GA.
In 1998, he held an impromptu gathering in his backyard that evolved into the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival, held at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in Waycross GA, now in it's 18th year.
Boasting headliners like Leon Russell, Dr. Ralph Stanley, former Eagle Bernie Leadon, and others, the music festival is a tribute to Waycross wonder-boy Gram Parsons, who is credited by many as the architect of Country Rock music.
In January 2015, Dave had the pleasure of opening for Leon Russell over a 6-night run in Georgia and Florida.
As a solo performer, Dave Griffin will bring the best musically to your wedding, special event, restaurant, or club.
