The Groove Objective Variety Band from South San Francisco, CA

The Groove Objective is a five-piece Rock, Funk and Blues Blues…….Groove Fusion band stemming from the San Francisco Bay Area. Our musically diverse band combines strong vocal styles with a funky and soulful sound inspired by generations of timeless groove based music. The Groove Objective plays music close to their heart and the high energy results are infectious! We cover artists such as Steely Dan, Tom Petty, Robert Cray, Albert King, Neville Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Kahn, Donna Summer, Amy Winehouse, Jeff Beck and Irma Thomas. - to name a few :) With a focus on deep tracks and new arrangements, we bring songs that sound familiar but guaranteed to feel fresh and new. Groove is in everything we play…..The dancing is our Objective!! We've performed in venues throughout the Bay Area including, to name a few - Slim's, The Park Chalet (named band of the month), St. James Gate, The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Bay Celebration party boat and multiple street fairs. The Groove Objective is Raya Zion on vocals, Dave Christian on Guitar, Adam Detrick on drums, Michael Lee on keys and Mrinal Kalakrishnan on bass.
