Radio Deco is a new jazz lounge music group featuring singer Mia Sable & multi-instrumentalist Jake Knox. The group is available as a duo, trio, and quartet performances (with larger band available time and budget permitting). Repertoire includes Jazz & Standards cover songs from 1920's-early 1960's, and Jazz-Lounge versions of Contemporary Pop 1990's-Present
Our set is most appropriate for a sophisticated cocktail party/lounge or relaxing outdoor event. Please know that typically after discussing the event, an appropriate setlist is chosen by Ruby Radio. Special request songs outside of the band's repertoire may require an extra fee to cover additional band rehearsal time. For performances in excess of 1 hr, a 15min break is required per each hour playing time, during which we will provide an iPod playlist with a similar tone of music. Rates quoted do not include backline/PA (available for additional charge). A minimum of 2 weeks advance notice for booking is required for sets in excess of 1 hr.
Mia Sable is an award winning singer/songwriter based in Los Angles, CA. She performs a variety of material which can include, Jazz Standards, Motown, Contemporary Pop and R&B, or her Soul-Pop originals. Mia was named Los Angeles Music Awards "Indie Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year" in 2006 and "Alternative Female Vocalist" in 2007. She was also honored to be named the Malibu Music Awards "Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year" in 2009. Mia and her band have toured locally, nationally, and internationally (SXSW, Sundance, etc.) and have performed at functions for Apple, Whole Foods, Best Buy, USC Marshall School of Business, and Pasadena Magazine.
Jake Knox is an experienced multi-instrumentalist/ composer/producer in the Los Angeles area. Jake started early- playing guitar, piano, bass, and drums in Arlington, VA. He began gigging around Washington D.C in many venues including the Kennedy Center, 9:30 Club, and Blues Alley all before his 18th birthday. He then received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he continued his musical career. By graduation Jake had toured the nation and played with many artists including Willie Nelson, George Benson, Kris Kristofferson, Annie Lennox, Christopher Williams, and many more. Jake Knox currently lives in the Los Angeles area, working as a producer, composer, songwriter, teacher, and performer in his West LA studio.
