Shortly afterwords the young Gary Johnson found himself living in Kingston where he met and worked with Bounty Killer. Bounty Killer recorded Gary's first single under the name Mr Mutton. 'Got to Get Away' brought Mr Mutton success in the U.S. where he performed at the Bob Marley Festival in Long Beach California. Mr Mutton performed alongisde acts like Burning Spear, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Mad Cobra, Anthony B, Shaggy , and Baby Sham. The exposure brought him the radio appearances and performances
in San Diego and San Francisco.

Mr Mutton began to split his time between the U.S. and Jamaica. He recorded and performed across the country traveling between New York, Miami, and Detroit as hubs. He worked with producers such as Jah Live, Don One, and Future Line Records.

Today Mr Mutton is recording by the name Teflon, a name given to him recently by Bounty Killer because of his fast tounge and street credibility in the ghetto. Teflon is residing in New York and producing an album with Future Line Records. He is anticipating the 2005 release of an album recorded in San Diego. The album is being produced by Kyle Macdonald the bassist from Slightly Stoopid, a successful acoustic reggae band founded by Sublime.
