Coach Dave One Man Band from North Attleboro, MA

These are but a few of the reactions from people who have heard "Coach Dave" Laprise perform. Dave began entertaining as a musician and band leader more than 50 years ago and for many years made his living as professional musician and music teacher. After a hiatus of several years, his desire to once again play music and entertain resurfaced. He worked for quite some time returning to his roots and redefining his musical abilities learned while studying at the Berklee School of Music and is actually playing better than ever! Dave does not play "stereotype" accordion but has a unique style. He plays an all electronic, digital accordion. Not only does he play melodies and jazz choruses with his right, keyboard hand, he plays the left hand buttons like a stand up bass, a technique few accordionists have mastered. Besides the 14 authentic accordion sounds, he will play big band music featuring horns and saxes. On old standard ballads he may utilize strings. Small group light jazz sounds could include organ and vibes. Classic country piano sounds are always a hit. Folk and Bluegrass feature banjo sounds so authentic you will not believe they are coming from an "accordion". Also a little rock n' roll and some 50's. The sounds are endless. There are no pre-recorded cd's or backing tracks. All music is performed live as you listen. "Accordion Cool" is the title of Dave's TV show on public access television. It is taped in Attleboro, MA, but if you want the show seen In Your area, call your local cable station and they are required to show it. You can find previous shows on the internet. More about that later. Dave also has a recurring live guest spot on AM 1320, Tom Rafferty Show in the Attleboro area. There are several tracks on the audio section. The first 8 are from Dave's CD(s), and are standard accordion. The ones marked "on digital" are short songs and the rest are from Dave's newest cd and are all digital accordion. Enjoy! On a personal note do not let the cowboy hat mislead you into thinking that Dave is a country act. The hat is worn as a symbol and tribute to Dave's two brothers , who he did not know existed for more than 60 years and he met for the first time at a family reunion in Scottsdale, AZ several years ago after one brother painstakingly tracked Dave down after all the years. Dave entertains at many different venues and is equally at home doing small home concerts, large concerts, corporate background, farmers markets and restaurant or lounge work and has even played at the finish line of major running road races. He travels around America in a motor home and may be in an area near you.
