The Calamity Jazz Band plays traditional jazz, swing, music from the 'big band' era, classic rock 'n roll, and more. We tailor the instrumentation and the tune list to best fit the
event, whether that is a '50s sock hop, a 20s Speakeasy theme, a 'Stage Door' canteen, or a turn-of-the-century cakewalk.
'Aunt Hagar' is our small ensemble, usually a trio [piano, bass and drums], offering blues, music from the '50s, '60s and '70s, and more. We tailor the tune list for your specific
focus: for example, music from Italy, France, Russia, etc., or celebrating a certain artist or genre [e.g., Frank Sinatra, Cole Porter, Nat 'King' Cole, Elvis Presley, The
Temptations, Patsy Cline].
The Bellafina Ensemble offers several instrumental combinations: Our string trio is the classic pairing of violin, viola, and cello, and we are available in other configurations
such as two violins, violin/viola, violin/cello, and so on. Depending on the sounds and styles desired, we add other instruments: guitar or stringed bass, for example.
Our Celtic harp duet is very popular, as is the option of Celtic harp and flute, violin, or cello.
Our trio, "The Polka Dots" [accordion, clarinet and tuba] can be expanded if your event calls for a larger ensemble. We play for Oktoberfests, and for festivals and events honoring
Scandinavia, eastern Europe, western Europe, Latin America, and more.
We offer other types of music as well: country, bluegrass, and folk music from around the world.
We love playing for weddings, receptions, parties, and other events. We are always expanding our repertoire, and our goal is to provide the music you want at a price you
can afford. Most of us are multi-instrumentalists, so we have the ability to offer a variety of sounds and styles without having to add more players to the mix.
