Selected as Pop Artist of the Year, at the 2006 Kansas City Christian Music Awards, Ashley Reynolds is quickly gaining momentum as one of the most inspiring young talents in Christian music. She is primarily travels as a solo artist and youth speaker where the focus of her presentation is on commitment to faith, commitment to purity (much more than just sexual abstinence, and commitment to community (with focus on communication within families). Just recently she also launched an initiative to raise awareness for the plight of homeless children and teens in our country with the release of her new slideshow video for Through the Eyes of Christ on YOUTUBE. This video launches a new ministry outreach for Ashley as she partners with churches and community organizations in helping homeless kids.
For other types of events ASHLEY is available with her "unplugged" accompaniment or with her full band (local to the KS, MO area only) performing a combination of original music, contemporary covers and a selection of Praise & Worship songs as well. Ashley Reynolds is sure to make an impact on any audience ages 9-90!
Ashley Reynolds insists her story is nothing big (or even tragic for that matter). She grew up in small-town America with a family she loves, and a typical pre-teen lifestyle. She tried competitive figure skating, Miss Pre-Teen pageants, and spent much of her free time in a dance studio studying classical ballet, tap and jazz. She started singing in her church at the young age of 13 which led her to performances at local festivals, churches and other special community events. Slowly she came to the realization that she didn’t really want to be doing what everyone else was doing-she wanted to be "extraordinary" and she wanted to commit her life and talents to serving God. At the young age of 16, she accepted her vocation, laid down all her gifts and talents at Jesus' feet and committed her life to ministry and stewardship.
Not soon thereafter, Ashley Reynolds and her family moved to Texas. The community quickly embraced her and before she knew it she was performing over 50 shows a year (at the young age of 17) including appearances at University of Houston's college campus, fund raising events with the Salvation Army, local women’s conferences, and festivals; like BlessFest where she appeared on the bill with Jeff Deyo, Superchick and others. Eventually Ashley made her way into a studio and recorded her first demo which included the inspirational ballad, All That You Bring. This song caught the attention of a producer and she was invited to come to New Mexico to record her first full length CD titled BROKEN PIECES. The highlight of the album experience for Ashley was that she was able to include two songs that came directly from her heart and from her pen. The release of this independent project confirmed that Ashley Reynolds would be on her way to serving God as a Christian based singer/songwriter.
Today, at age 23, Ashley is even more so focused on her music and ministry. She continues to expand her Christ centered music into different and unique markets. In 2006, she released a beautiful wedding song titled ON THIS DAY that quickly captured the attention of bridal professionals nationwide. Although Ashley is single, she wrote this song as a "gift to her future husband" that she believes God will bring to her one day. Who would have thought this song would be embraced by newly engaged couples as well as those who have celebrated many years of marriage.
Ashley Reynolds is currently working on new material for her next CD which she will release in 2008. The focus of her writing/lyrics is on the transition from youth to young adult and the challenges you face along the way-but with Christ as the center of your life-you find out quickly you are not alone.
