EXCLUSIVELY ANTON J. EDWARDS-MCARTHUR
Anton Jerome Edwards-McArthur, the son of Cyrus and Lena McArthur was born in Walterboro, S.C. on January 24, 1986. He is the first of three children. His siblings are Cyrus III and Brian McArthur. Anton’s parents moved him to Miami when he was three months old.
Anton began his musical career at the age of eight singing in a church choir in Miami Florida. In 1996, at the age of ten, the New Providence Lodge 365 noticed his talent. He performed one of his favorite songs “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly at W.M.B.M (a gospel radio station) in Miami Beach, Florida. Everyone there was moved by his performance.
While attending Norland Middle School Magnet Program for music in the Fall of 1998, Anton really wanted to fine-tune his abilities and talent. He learned control, pitch, tone, and other skills to enhance his already awesome talent.
He continues to sing in the church and school choir. He was one of a few chosen to sing for the Superintendents Choir from his region in March of 1998. In that same year, his talent was exemplified at the Miami Arena. He performed in the young stars talent search, “Tickets To Paradise”. Also in 1998, he auditioned for the Miami Boys Choir and was selected. Anton and the Miami Boys Choir sang on NBC6, which he led 2 out of 3 songs. Today he still occasionally performs with them.
In 1999, he sang in the Annual talent showcase at Norland Middle School, in which he was victorious, winning first place. Throughout the year, Anton continued to sing in talent shows where he always pleased the crowd and came out a winner. In the year 2000, he won 2nd place at the William H. Turner Technical School Talent Show. In the year 2001, he took home first place as he dazzled the crowd at the Apollo Talent Show.
In the year 2002, he entered into a talent show sponsored by Felucca Entertainment, taking home the championship trophy. In 2002, he made massive moves when he was the only R&B singer to sing for Merestone Entertainments coming out party, at a well-known club in Ft. Lauderdale. Anton also was chosen to sing the National Anthem during every opening, closing and championship game at Pepper Park, one of Miami’s biggest parks located in North Miami. He dazzled the students at North Miami Middle when he performed three songs at their field day festivities. Also during this year while singing for the Big Time Talent Showcase, WEBSTREAMS Vice President George Dubec recognized him. Anton currently sings at all of his shows each month, giving breathtaking performances, while taking Ft. Lauderdale by amazement. Anton took Homestead by surprise when he sang at the Michael Barrow’s youth explosion winning second place out of over 100 acts. In September of 2002, Anton auditioned for Showtime at the Apollo, in which he was 1 of 10 chosen, out of over 2000 people. He performed on Showtime at the Apollo in New York City, singing one of his original songs, which the crowd enjoyed. In the year 2003, A.J. became not only a singer, but also a Role Model. A.J. wooed the children at a local YWCA, giving them not only a concert of their lives, but also donating gifts to every student in attendance.
In the year 2004, he brilliantly won the hearts of “PAC 35/Take It To The Ring”, winning first place and prizes. Also in the year 2004, A.J has performed in Georgia, West Palm Beach and South Carolina, making monolithic strives, as he gets closer to his terminus. In 2005, he triumphantly was booked to perform at venues that catapulted his image. His entourage is growing into a multitude of loving fans that follow him to each performance. Clubs such as Banana Joes, The Warehouse, Khola Hut, and many more have sell out crowds when A.J. is in the show. Throughout his performances, he has performed along side many professional singers and rappers. He continues to sing at various venues such as weddings, parties, schools, churches, talent shows, and much more, coming even closer to his dream of becoming a star each day.
Anton’s goal is to become a famous singer and songwriter. He is fulfilling his goal by continuing to get good grades in school and getting as much exposure as possible. He hopes to touch/change many lives and sends positive messages through his songs throughout the world………
