Having faced adversity on a number of occasions, Manny Gonzalez has tackled those challenges head-on, and has dedicated his life imparting what he has learned to those around him in helping them succeed in overcoming their own adversity, and empowering everyone who has heard him speak. Manny is a retired US Marine who has faced and overcome numerous physical and mental challenges in his life. He suffered career-ending injuries in 1996 during a brush fire which started while his unit was conducting combat exercises. As Manny grabbed his gear to escape the flames, he saw a Marine on the ground at the base of a hill where are they were training. Manny instead went into the line of fire, forever changing his life, and saving another.

Manny's split second reaction to 'Leave No Man Behind' was a life changer. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was medically retired from the Marine Corps in 1998. He has opened up about his experiences with various audiences over the years to demonstrate that one's tragedy does not mean you cannot go on living. Manny's story is not just of being a burn survivor, but of living a life beyond the burns. Whether you are looking for a someone to empower and inspire your group at a personal or corporate event, Manny's message transcends all boundaries, motivating everyone to challenge themselves in becoming a more positive leader or role model. He has recently shared the same stage with Alec Stern (Co-Founder of Constant Contact) and Jennifer Baker (Best-selling author and Founder of SuccessGPS).

"His personality and enthusiasm captivated an audience of approximately five hundred people from the start of his talk to the end. I truly felt the reason why he showed exceptional confidence is because he spoke from his heart. While his life tragedy has had a significant impact on his life he was and is a great source of inspiration to others.

- David Schury, Founder/ President, From Tragedy to Triumph Foundation

He was very good for our young people and a great witness for all of them. I truly believe that for some of them, he made a real difference and for all of them, he made them aware of the sacrifices we may have to make and the struggles we may have in life and that we can, with the proper attitude, overcome these challenges.

- Deacon James J. Ernst, Our Lady of Hope Church

He speaks from the heart with sincerity, authenticity, humor and conviction. He has been through intense physical and emotional trials in his life and has overcome them with an amazing level of grace and positivity.

Manny Gonzalez, despite the fact that he has never been exposed to a prison setting, did a great job addressing and motivating a group of educators and other support staff at a correctional institute. He addressed topics like how to motivate one's self, overcome obstacles and deliver services that are not only part of our job, but to go beyond that-to give of our self for the betterment of others. I spoke with some of my colleagues about Manny, and everyone enjoyed him and his presentation. Words like "excellent" and "great" were used when I asked them to describe Manny. I would whole-heartedly recommend him to speak at any function for any group of people.
