Public speaking is my passion, and I love to include audience members through lively discussions and Q&A segments! A little about me...I am a Georgia Certified Peer Specialist and Certified Whole Health Action Management Coach. I hold a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University.. My professional career began 31 years ago, which includes providing individual and group mental health services, victim advocacy, community education, seminar/workshop development, and technical college education. Coming from a place of lived experience with Complex PTSD, I bring compassion and empathy to my work with individuals with mental health challenges. As a motivational speaker, I believe in empowering individuals to find healing within themselves while becoming their own best advocate. My personal life mission is to eradicate the stigma of mental illness through education and promotion of empathy and compassion. In June of 2011, I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. I reached Kibo Camp at 15,550 feet above sea level. The experience changed my life in many ways, especially in meeting the porters and guides of Kilimanjaro. These are brave and dedicated men whose sole job is to ensure the safety and well-being of climbers while on the journey both up and down the mountain. Since returning from Africa, I have told the inspirational story of the Kili porters and guides in public speaking engagements in Georgia and Washington, D.C. I am eager to design a speaking engagement to meet the needs of your organization!
