Jim Comer is a multi-faceted speaker, author and communication consultant with more than 25 years of experience. His powerful keynotes on presentation skills, overcoming adversity and his 14-year journey of caregiving for both parents have informed, inspired and entertained thousands from Canada to Cancun. Jim's talks “From Fear to Fearless: How to Become a Confident, Successful Speaker” and “The Joys and Jolts of Caregiving” take challenging subjects and make them accessible and entertaining.
Jim's work as a writer includes How to Survive a Roommate, a book about his early days as an actor in New York, that landed him on the Today Show; jokes for Joan Rivers; and a monologue for the legendary Bob Hope. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and Readers' Digest. His cover story on caregiving for Texas Co-Op Power went to a million and a half readers and was named Best Feature Story of 2013. The Writers' League of Texas nominated Jim's book, When Roles Reverse: A Guide to Parenting Your Parents as Best Non-Fiction Book of 2007 and he edited his father's World War II journal, Combat Crew, currently a best-selling e-book on Amazon.
Jim has written speeches - and been a presentation skills coach – for six CEOs and top executives at major corporations including Avon Products, Rockwell International, AMD, Universal Studios and the American Cancer Society. His transformational presentation skills workshops have helped thousands become more authentic and powerful speakers.
He was named Member of the Year for the Austin chapter of the National Speakers' Association, is an award-winning speaker in Toastmasters, a veteran of six quiz shows, including Jeopardy and is active in RESULTS, a citizens lobby to end hunger and preventable childhood diseases.
