Black and Gold Marching Elite Marching Band from Brooklyn, NY

An Oasis of music and safety for Brooklyn kids. See for yourself what wonderful things happen when adults take the initiative to create conditions for success for our kids! This summer has been a season of cultural enrichment for dozens of Brooklyn youngsters who are having fun as they learn music, dance and art! The Black and Gold Marching Elite's 2014 Music and Arts Summer Camp has been a great success thanks to the Bridging the Gap Foundation of Brooklyn, New York. Or we'll bring the performance to your event. These young people are on a forward march that goes far beyond music. We keep them focused on the importance of excelling in school and going to college. You definitely will be impressed. Our kids, ages 7 to 18, have become seasoned performers. BGME has appeared on national television on HBO's Last Week Tonight program and joined more than 300 musicians for the world premiere in Brooklyn of a song commissioned and videotaped by National Public Radio. The band has performed for the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets, at Carnegie Hall, at Bar Mitzvahs and corporate galas. We have lots of fun while teaching invaluable life skills: discipline, leadership, sharing, working together and responsibility. The organization's dedicated music educators emphasize the basics of marching band and we encourage each child to develop what we hope will become a lifelong passion for music and the arts through active participation.
